Life Changes when you’re Aware of your ‘Thoughts’

We seldom like negative comments from others so why do accept our own inner negative chatter.
Have you ever noticed how draining it is to be around people with negative attitudes?
Yet many of us tolerate the destructive critical chatter that goes on within our own minds.

This is Important:

Since we are so used to the stream of self-limiting, critical thoughts that fill our minds, we are often unaware of the impact these thoughts have on our lives.

It is only when we become aware of the power of these thoughts that we can change them and fill the emptiness they leave with much more productive, positive affirmations.

When I ask my clients to pay attention to their ‘thinking’, they are amazed at the negativity they find there. But if we could take notice of these negative thoughts in a nonjudgmental way, we can start a healing process that will eventually allow us to replace negative and destructive self-talk with positive, empowering thoughts.

While the occasional judgmental thought may have little impact, it’s the ongoing negativity that causes all the damage. Even of the tone of these thoughts has energy.

Exercise:
For a single day be conscious of your thoughts, feelings, opinions, and judgments.

Scrutinize the messages you are feeding into your subconscious mind, maybe from the perspective of a detached observer. Simply watch the flow of these thoughts and make a note of the number of times you find yourself focusing on beating yourself up or indulging in self-directed criticism. Make sure not to judge yourself based on the notions that come into your mind.

As you become increasingly aware of your patterns of thought, whether positive and negative, you will gradually learn to control these thoughts, and then change them.

Remember the images and thoughts that pass through your mind are always on the move.

So don’t let them settle.
Like a pesky mosquito, brush them off very quickly!!

The new positive awareness you create will eventually help you lay down a foundation of positivity
from which you can build a more happy, healthy and successful life.
